A boy with a suitcase, Imagine point
"There is some incomprehensible matrix, some kind of miracle - for some it is God, for others it is something else, but people are very concerned about their affairs and everyday life and do not notice it. People forget about a reality that is incomprehensible to me.” - Rustam Mirzoev.

The theme of "reality" has long inspired Rustam Mirzoev, and his art is filled with this concept. Each of his canvases is a journey through time, in which the viewer becomes an observer and an actor in a theatrical performance, where reality and fantasy intertwine, where we become the heroes of our own stories. This multifactorial aspect permeates his work. In the artist's works, reality becomes the entourage and environment his characters are in. In particular, a boy with a suitcase became the central image of the exhibition of the same name, which is currently on display in the TSEKH gallery.

This project was conceived long before a full-scale invasion. The artist began to create some works, but in one way or another, he felt that reality was gradually changing. The heroes of the works, originally depicted as bright and daring daredevils, changed their original essence in the creation process. Time and circumstances transformed the series' characters, making them scared, confused, and lonely.

These metamorphoses, which reflect instability and unrest, are present in the modern world and have a deep symbolic meaning. The main image of the "Boy with a Suitcase" project is the boy himself. This image reflects a change in priorities and living conditions. Instead of a dizzying adventure and a case full of money, as initially intended, we see a half-destroyed, unwelcoming building and a boy who is scared and carries only the necessary things for survival in his suitcase. This becomes a complicated reality for Mirzoev, who travels to different parts of the country, working on his works. Like the characters in the paintings, he is always ready to move with a packed suitcase.

Another impressive painting, which can be seen in the TSEKH Gallery, depicts a girl dressed entirely in black against the background of a bright room with a modern interior. She carefully, with disbelief, observes a dark cloud that flies into the open window. Perhaps it is symbolically depicted anxiety, foreboding, or dark smoke. Although it seems static, the canvas contains signs, hints, and deep meanings.

In general, the works of Mirzoyev presented in the TSEKH Gallery are influenced by events that broke the usual rhythm of life. With the help of a brush, through images, the artist could convey the emotions and experiences of everyone living in Ukraine, including his own.

His art evokes a feeling of doubt, anxiety, and, at the same time, hope. It helps us understand that even in difficult times, we can find beauty and insight in the world around us.

The project "Boy with a Suitcase" crosses the border of aesthetic pleasure and becomes a means of thinking and reflection. It is a specific symbol of change in our world, constantly moving and becoming increasingly unstable. However, simultaneously, the author allows every viewer to find their own personal perception and connection with the works. This project is not just an art exhibition, but a journey into the worlds of reality and fantasy of Rustam Mirzoev.
