Olesya Tkachenko's personal exhibition "Deeply felt"

Gallery of modern Ukrainian art Portal 11 presented the first personal exhibition of the artist Olesya Tkachenko, which opened on 14/01 and will last until 12/02.

The artist, whose works are in private collections of Ukraine, has participated in more than 30 international biennials and is not the first year to represent Ukrainian art on the international stage.

The artist uses a unique textile painting technique and uses natural materials (such as silk and wool) to convey her own existential explorations. The fibers are transformed into brushstrokes and graphic contours, turning textile work into unique conceptual art. The curators of the exhibition say that Tkachenko's works embody the relationship between life and death, the meaningful and the senseless, as well as attempts to find the fine line that divides life into "before" and "after". The artist herself talks about her technique like this: — In my work, I look for ways to reproduce the feeling of natural textures. Using woolen threads to create an image, nevertheless, I try to reproduce quite real emotional feelings from the contemplation of objects of the natural environment surrounding us.
