"... I am an artist, and no matter what I do, I paint: even if I wipe my feet on a rag." – F. Tetyanich.

On February 17, 2023, the Dukat auction house opened a retrospective exhibition dedicated to the work of the Ukrainian painter, monumentalist, performer and bright representative of the underground culture - Fedir Tetyanich. From among the diverse "repertoire" of the artist's concepts, the curators of the exhibition have selected a part of the works that are thematically focused on visions of the future.

Actually, Fedir Tetyanich himself was a manifesto of a look into the future and further dialogue with it. He developed his own version of ecologically informed cosmism, he paid special attention to the development of the concept of biotechnospheres, the diagrams and collages of which are presented at the exhibition. Through his entire artistic practice, Fripulya emphasized the need for the emancipation of art, the deprivation of the artistic act of any restrictions and formalities. Art should accept challenges and respond to them.

In his paintings, Fedir Tetyanich often referred to the archetypes of Ukrainian culture, interweaving them into the concept of an all-encompassing infinity. The author conserved his originality in the philosophy of limitless or "I without limits". In particular, this is noticeable in the work "The Universe" (1982), where symbolism, mysticism and a look into the future are intertwined and outlined by the limits of the human figure and its gaze.

Today, the project "Fedir Tetyanich. Fripulya: visions" once again emphasizes the need for constant transformation of one's own self and social views. What can we be inspired by looking at Fedor Tetyanich's work? Strategy of resistance and experiment. A change in imagination, visuality and approaches that allows you to look deeper or look wider. And the most important thing is to fearlessly represent and defend your new self every time.
