On February 22, 2023, the Kyiv contemporary art gallery Imagine Point opened a new exhibition project "Limit" with the participation of Andrii Yanovych and Olena Stelmakh. Art historian Inna Kalenska, Imagine Point gallery, tells about it.

Andrii Yanovych and Olena Stelmakh are a married couple of artists from Lviv. However, they show two completely different approaches to painting.

Both studied at the Lviv Academy of Arts, now live and work in Kyiv. Olena, having considerable experience in the field of illustration, transfers it to her paintings. In addition, Olena Stelmakh uses the techniques of collage art, becoming not only an artist, but also a philosopher. She builds a space where the main images are "cut out" from their context and placed in a new reality. The characters of her works are people who, for the most part, find themselves in unreal, non-figurative landscapes.
Andriy Yanovych reveals the conceptual emotional component through abstract painting. He tries to "convey the tension and state when a person reaches his limit, when he divides between before and after, when he feels that he is on the edge and, despite the tension, is able to keep calm and lead everyday life." The power of color in his works lies in harmonious combinations, which allows turning Chaos into Wholeness.

Both authors pay great attention to the color space. To some extent, their works echo, complement each other, and at the same time technically border each other. Imagine Point Gallery invites you to see, explore and experience the work of the masters with your own eyes. The exhibition will last until March 25, 2023.
