On March 9, 2023, the Vakulenko Art Consulting art gallery hosted the opening of a paired exhibition called "On the Line +". Kyiv artists, friends and colleagues Vladimir Padun and Ed Potapenkov presented their works there.

The concept of the exhibition is a kind of message to the world, the events in which are increasingly acquiring the features of absurdity. The conditional state no longer exists, the question is "why?" no longer being spoken.

Being in Kyiv since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, both artists passed through themselves the whole chaos of events and feelings that happened to them, friends, relatives, Ukrainians.
At a time when the integrity of the illusory world was destroyed, artists found solace in the art of creating and producing meanings. Both artists share a common vision of creativity, for which the paintings were an attempt to "stay in the mind, playing against the emptiness of uncertainty." Thanks to the superstructure of surreal worlds in their works, the artists managed to look at events from a third person and convey the idea that there is a happy ending after all.
The works of artists, life-affirming and deeply ironic, are full of symbolism of the twentieth century. As an example, it can be noted that since the beginning of 2014, Vladimir Padun has been involved in the supply of drones for the ATO. Some of his works reflect the image of drones and reproduce the tense atmosphere of the territories located near the front line. In addition, both Vladimir and Eduard have been experimenting with camouflage fabric for more than 7 years when writing works on military topics. A large number of works of the project were made on camouflage fabric, and not on ordinary canvases, which is an indicative detail of the work of the two artists.
Art at the break of reflection, destroyed ideas about the existing world and the paradoxical nature of events has become for artists one of the ways to transform a permanent state of anxiety. At the same time, this made it possible to form the new values of the modern Ukrainian - composure and order - and change the focus from uncertainty to categoricalness, determination and confidence.

The exhibition runs until 04/09/2023
