The exhibition "State of constant tension" will present two projects united by a common theme - the theme of Crimea. It is the home of Lera Litvinova and Leonora Yanko, but today, the peninsula remains something longed for and distant for authors.

"Conversations about UFOs"

The "Conversations about UFOs" project is an exhibition of sculptures and paintings of the series "UFOs. Too Gentle Object" by Leonora Yanko. For the first time in Ukraine, a 3-meter inflatable sculpture, "Pregnant Dove Dog Just Howling at the Moon," from the "UFO" series, created with the support of the Imagine Point Gallery, will be presented.

Leonora Yanko talks about her author's vision: "I started this series of works as a kind of way out of the state of constant tension that this unjust war has been creating for almost 10 years. Crimea is my Motherland, and circumstances dictate that I be careful about my statements. So, I kind of moved into this saving world of UFOs. Everyone is very kind, even too kind, on my non-existent ideal planet. The inhabitants of my Utopia are direct and sensitive, like children. They do not know wars and are incurable optimists."

"UFOs – Too Gentle Objects" aims to contact the immediate playful child inside every adult viewer. What topics can we talk about when relatives and friends are in the occupied territory? One year, two years... 10 years. What do you do if your profession is related to self-expression and honesty of expression? This is how I perceive art. But what can you talk about out loud when it is not worth it? It is not desirable to take risks, and they (the closest ones and relatives in the occupied territory) ask not to frame them, make movements, run social networks, or express themselves...

"Virgo"

The project will present paintings from the "Virgo" and "The Way Home" series and ceramic sculptures. The basis of Lera Litvinova's project is human identification and self-awareness as a part and, simultaneously, a whole in the infinity and eternity of existence. "Virgo" is the name of the project and a series of works embodying a metaphorical dialogue between the individual and the boundless universe. The topic of eternity is intriguing because eternity is a constant category. At the same time, man exists in the reality of fleeting time, and how exactly man explores the determinism and limitlessness of time and space grasps eternity as a concept.

In her artistic reflections, Lera Litvinova constantly returns to the theme of the sea, the Black Sea, and its Crimean coast. The exhibition's exposition includes abstract landscapes from the series "The Way Home." The main property of the concept of abstraction and the abstract landscape is the deliberate separation of the whole and its components for a generalized perception of the phenomenon. Thus, the author created the series of works "The Way Home" as a pictorial memory after traveling in Ukraine, especially remembering her native Crimea. The works reflect certain emotional states and convey the concept – of the way home as a way to oneself.

"The landscape is verbose and complex; at sunset or dawn, in a haze of fog or shrouded in twilight, when there is not a single living soul nearby, it seems that the universe is born along with a new day and you, along with it," says L. Litvinova.
